He’s going to run the Department of Government Efficiency and run it like a tyrant?
Let me expose him a bit. We were all quite thrilled that he was going to help Trump win the election. But, he needs to be reined in. Let me help with that.
Efficiency for a project can only be determined by knowing what the goal of that particular project is. Since Elon is in the hot seat, I’ll explain how one of his companies will never achieve significant efficiency for the average person.
Isn’t the goal of Neuralink to input information into the brain, the central nervous system? This is how EASILY I show that, in the future, when scientists attempt to assess the “efficiency” of his goal to input information into a human brain via the Neuralink, there can be only one conclusion, that his Neuralink will never approach the efficiency of inputting information into the human brain via visual input through the eyes.
I bet Elon $1 million that I can outperform any Neuralink patient in the next ten years in how quickly information can be input into my brain via visual input through my eyes compared to any Neuralink patient in the next ten years through his Neuralink.
In a side by side “live” competition, (with a 10 ft X 10 ft soundproof board 3 inches thick between us) I am given information through visual input (my eyes) and Elon’s Neuralink patient is given information only via the patient’s Neuralink (only electrical impulses are allowed and no auditory sound). The patient is blindfolded by me and I am not. The efficiency of how well the information reaches the brain is tested by how accurate the output is. I am sure I can read out loud as fast as the average person so I am certain that I can read out loud at a rate of 183 words per minute. The Neuralink patient also has to prove that the information he/she received via the Neuralink reached his brain and that he can understand it well enough to verbalize the information (the output must be via speech).
To prevent “cheating” or “rigging,” the information being provided to both of us will be simple. The first book of the Bible, Genesis. It will be presented to me via text on a monitor. The information will be given to the Neuralink patient, yes via his Neuralink only and he will be blindfolded. To be absolutely certain that information isn’t transmitted via an auditory device to the Neuralink patient’s ear, an ENT physician of my choosing is allowed to inspect the patient’s ear every ten minutes during which time my screen will also be black. As the information is spoken accurately (at least 95% accurate) by the contestant (proving that the information reached that contestant’s brain), more information is given to the contestant in blocks of 250 words (about the number of words to fit on a monitor).
It will be a “live” contest and reporters/journalists will be allowed to be in the auditorium and record the contest.
I am so certain that I will win this bet, that I will give Elon Musk a million to one odds. To be perfectly clear, if I win, I only win a $1. If I lose, then I have to pay Elon Musk $1 million.
There is absolutely no reason for Elon not to take this bet, if he is believes in his Neuralink. But, what this will show? That Elon Musk isn’t that great of a scientist and that one of his most talked about companies will have an efficiency that is much below what he has touted.
If Elon Musk is unwilling to take this bet, can anyone have confidence that he knows what “efficiency” even means? If the Neuralink patient only feels a million tiny zaps in his brain and can’t convert those electrical impulses into information that reflects the information he was fed via his Neuralink, then isn’t the Neuralink just a RISKY, high priced fly zapper? What, then is the efficiency of that piece of junk? Zero?
I will spend $20,000 openly advertising this OPEN CHALLENGE to Elon and so all comments are welcome.
Very smart observation about efficiency. I'd bet on the eye brain link myself.
Well done. My money's on you
